The reason for such a long reply is that I am reluctant to try the experiement. FYI: I saw NO notifiction from MWB 3.8.3 that it blocked CCleaner opening. With that preamble my question is: Are you sure the problem is with MWB v3.8.3 flagging CCleaner 5.65 or just with MWB v4.x. Often user’s temp fix was to REVERT BACK TO V3.8.3 - problem resolved. CCleaner, a popular PC optimization app, is being flagged up as ‘potentially unwanted software’ by Microsoft Defender (formerly Windows Defender, but renamed with the May 2020 Update), which. MWB V4 uses a new design with a new ‘engine’. I’m also aware that there are few if any such problems with v3.x. I am on the Malwarebytes forum and am aware of the many reported problems that V4.x Ransomware module has with other software.
